All Moved In

I'm in Texas!  Above is the new chapel on the DTS campus.  It's a beautiful building and this picture doesn't do it justice... but it will do for now.   Spring semester started last week and I am taking four classes: (1) Bible Study Methods and Hermeneutics, (2) Designing and Leading Effective Ministries, (3) Elements of Greek, and (4) Trinitarianism.  It's been a joy to be in person!  Last semester I was "zooming" in to class and I'm thankful for that technology, but there is nothing quite like actually being in a classroom where I can meet my classmates. I've started working part-time for the DTS media department.  I'm doing a lot of what I used to do while I was at TV8; operating cameras and directing during chapel (which you can watch live on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 10:40am CST on either YouTube or Facebook), as well as filming and editing videos for DTS.  I have an office on campus and my schedule works around my classes....

'See ya later!' not 'Goodbye'

I'm going to miss these 'backyard' views    How do you sum up your reflections on 6 years in one blog post?  The answer: you can't.  All week I've been feeling nostalgic toward everything.  I've spent countless hours scrolling through photos and videos of the past years and gosh, I'm overwhelmed by how many wonderful moments and memories I have had.  Who am I that I've had the glorious opportunity to share in this slice of life with all of these amazing humans?!  My heart hurts with a deep sadness when I think about leaving this amazing place.  Yes, we all love the mountains, but I'm going to miss this community and the people I've grown to love.  In many ways you are like family to me.  I thank each of you for all the ways you have encouraged me, loved me, laughed with me, and cried with me (well, usually I'm the one doing the crying, so thanks for putting up with that 😂).   The only comfort I have is knowing I will surly be aroun...

A New Journey

A journey started for me in 2020 when I began a course offered through my church called Artios. Artios is a Greek word often translated to “thoroughly equipped.”  The purpose of the class was to focus on theological learning, spiritual formation and discipleship.  Acquiring new knowledge became a passion for me and the year long class only scratched the surface.  After  lots of prayer, and the encouragement of people I trust and respect, I have decided to attend Dallas Theological Seminary.   This fall I began classes for a Masters in Theology (ThM) degree.  The purpose of this degree is to produce competent Bible expositors who are qualified to serve God effectively in a number of areas in Christian ministry. I am pursing a ThM degree because I believe it would enable me to be thoroughly equipped to serve confidently in any number of ministry roles.  There are so many people (Millennials and Gen Z especially) being led astray by the progressive...
